School work’s coming up!!
Really requiring alot of discipline and energy from me. Nearly 1.5 years of not really doing anything, suddenly developing a consistency to read my notes (before class) is rather challenging. As much as most people think that Music is gonna be a slack slack subject for me. So NOT. It’s the subject requiring the most energy and time from me. 2 lessons a week, 2 ensembles to join, 1 specialised “instrument”(vocals). Btw, I don’t dread any of these (except one lesson =p). I enjoy going for my ensembles – one’s a pop band, the other’s a vocal ensemble. Its just that it takes up alot of time. Right. I shall stop ranting.
The 3rd week of school has come to an end. Made new friends. I ♥ the Lit girls. ♥♥♥ ALOT. And one of them is an indian Bimbo. ♥ to the MAX. She’s super hyper and cute, with no sense of what it means to speak softly in the library. Hersoft/whisper is like my normal talking voice :p But anyhows, the Lit girls have been awesome and they all speak in English so that’s like a major bonus already
Another highlight of the week just happened ytd, when Jon lent me his car for the day!
So I had to drive to school myself after dropping him in church, drove home myself, had Bible Study ♥ then go to church to pick him up after his prayer meeting. It was ALOT of driving but I loved every single minute drivinggg! And it totalled to nearly 3/8 of his tank’s petrol =x I’m doing my part to contribute to the petrol fund okay
Gonna be off to church in a few hours!
Changes in life are never easy especially when you’re stepping into an unknown.
New friends, new environment, it all sounds great – but at the end of the day, you’re the only one I look forward to.
Hold my hand and walk with me, trust me when I say I’ll never let you go ♥

The first week of school at NIE has come to an end. Its been such an exciting week, meeting new friends, learning more about my core subjects and really immersing in the Uni life.
Main highlights of uni life thus far :
1) New friends have been awesome! While the H1N1 saga has been quite a big huha in Singapore, I’m quite glad that because of it most of the orientation camps at NIE were cancelled. So when school started, everybody was really ‘on’ to make new friends rather than “i already have a clique of friends so no need to make new friends”. Yea that’s what I got in SIM =x
The Lit and Music people have been fantastica! Really enjoying their company, all sorts of different kinds of people in class, and I’m glad our classes are small so everybody knows everybody! Yay!
Met new people at GESL today. Its basically a class where 20 people from very different courses get together and we start this service learning project. Funny bunch. And got sabo-ed to be one of the two facilitators
Ahh, not that I’m upset to be a facilitator..but yea, just mixed feelings luh. On one hand, I know that it’ll be good for my portfolio and also a good experience handling yet another group. But the brain energy and the extra time needed to attend a facilitator course and possible additional meetings..that’s quite the turn-off?
OKAY enough! Elizabeth Eng! You must learn to be more hardworking. Stop being a couch potato/lazy bum!
2) My core subjects – Lit and Music – are pretty interesting so far! Hopefully it stays this way
The Lit people are very Lit-ty, in a way .. .everybody speaks up in class. Its quite a proactive kinda discussion. And that’s where I’m somewhat weak in. Anywhere else, in a more relaxed setting, I can blabber on non-stop about everything under the sun. But when it comes to a classroom setting, and discussing intellectual stuff, and I’m forced to think fast, that’s where the problem sets in. Heh. Gotta train my brain to move faster!
Music lesson. Hmm, if listening to a 1.5 minute song and discussing it for 3 hours sounds awesome to you.. Then music class has been fantastic. LOL! Well, its gonna be like this for the next few weeks so I guess I have to be paying more attention to what I’m listening and learn how to analyse and critic a piece of music that sometimes sounds REALLY foreign.
Went for an audition today with prof Chia. Wanted to switch from taking piano as my Major instrument to doing vocals instead. So he had to assess whether I was up to a certain standard..i think? So anyway, went for the really cool audition – it seemed more like a free vocal lesson! – and Praise God! Prof Chia agreed to take me as his student
The week has been great! And I’m really looking forward to school next week
Just to end off this post, this is to the dearest Jon..
Thank you for being my driver this entire week. I really am grateful for you and your car and your time. Oh, and also letting me abuse your car by driving it. You’re the BEST
(Oh people, I already have my license!)

Days have been filled with dirving lessons day in and day out. Sleeping at 12am, waking up at 11am. That’s nearly 12 whole hours of sleep!! =x
School’s starting in exactly a week’s time. Excited! Yet, at the same time, nervous about what the school environment will be like, friends I will mix with, what the school curriculum would turn out to be.
Specialising in English Lit would really be a sort of “eye opener”. Even though I’ve been doing Lit since Sec school till As, it hasn’t exactly been my best of best subjects and somehow there’s this certain “FEELING” about Lit teachers. Like, this very “english” feel.
Okay I shall stop flaunting my weird english. =x
Just to end of this random post…
